About Bowring Transport
Moving heaven and earth.....
Warsop based Bowring Transport has grown from a one man operation with a single lorry to a multi-million pound transport business.
In 1951 Bill Bowring had no idea that his small livestock transporting business would flourish into one of the largest privately owned transport fleets in the East Midlands.
The business began with moving livestock for farmers to the markets of North Nottinghamshire, before progressing into general agricultural haulage and carrying loads such as fertiliser, corn and sugar beet.
In
1974, Bill's wife and their two sons, formed the company Bowring
Transport Limited. Although the company was still involved in
the agricultural haulage market, the business then branched out
into the transportation of building waste and materials for road
reconstruction projects.
Bowring Transport purchased it's first articulated vehicle in 1976, expanding the fleet of eight wagons and fifteen staff. Today the fleet stands at an impressive 60 plus vehicles covering all aspects of specialist haulage.
